Giveaway : ShaToBu Shapewear : The Workout You Wear (ends 2/18)

Giveaway : ShaToBu Shapewear : The Workout You Wear (ends 2/18): "

I never knew an undergarment could do so many wonderful things aside from hiding those parts of our body that we see as flaws. I was surprised to learn that this shaper is constructed with just enough resistance to provide significant toning and calorie burning, causing us to burn extra colories throughout the day without even realizing it. This extra resistence or extra exercise, is effective and effortless. It’s like pure magic and I’d love to see if this advertisement lives up to it’s claims. Wouldn't you? Almost seems too good to be true. To enter this contest and to learn more about this product, please follow the directions below:
Today’s Brixton Street ♥ You feature comes courtesy of ShaToBu: The Workout You Wear!

The name ShaToBu comes from a combination of the words “shaping” (tummy shaping), “toning” (muscle toning), and “burning” (calorie buring), just three of the benefits that ShaToBu products offer with regular wear.

ShaToBu’s attractive line of shapewear employs “resistance band technology” that ShaToBu claims will help users burn extra calories while going about their daily activities.  Some details from the ShaToBu website:

  • ShaToBu instantly gives a sleeker silhouette, but women can also see and feel a difference in their bodies with regular use over time. By incorporating resistance bands right into the garment, muscles work a little harder and more calories are burned during daily activities.

  • Independent scientific studies from the University of Virginia show that women who wear ShaToBu during daily activities burn UP TO 12% MORE calories during daily activities like walking or climbing stairs.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, no?  When ShaToBu offered me the opportunity to pick out an item of my choice, I opted for the Shaping Tights ($36) in the “steel” color.   As someone who wears tights on on nearly a daily basis anyway, I figure there can’t be any harm in at least trying these out!

These are definitely tights that I would wear on a regular basis; the color selection is neutral (jet black, brown, steel) and simple to match with everyday wear.  The “steel” color I selected is a very sensible shade of opaque, dark gray that works well with any color clothing or shoes.

From the picture above, you can see the areas of the product which the resistance bands are build into due to their more opaque color and tighter weave.  This does leaves a visible demarcation line between the tighter areas on the thigh and the regular legging portion (as most, if not all, shapewear does), however, the line itself is placed nicely so that it doesn’t peek out from under skirts or shorts.

In terms of fit, I found that the product was a lot more comfortable than I was expecting!  It didn’t feel super constricting and was quite comfortable, so much so that after some time I forgot that I was even wearing them.  The thigh and legging areas also blend seamlessly and smoothly together leaving behind no lumpy areas, just a super smooth silhouette!

While the shaping tights are also available in a high waist version, the ShaToBu High Waist Shaping Tight ($38), I’m quite short so I thought the high waist may be too high since regular waist tights have usually ended up high waisted for me.  However, because the top portion of the these tights are a bit less stretchy than the average pair of tights (due to the resistance bands), these fall normally on the waist (rather then up my ribcage like most).  Even if you are on the shorter side like me, you could definitely go for the high waist version without a problem.

In addition to their tights, ShaToBu also makes a Footless Shaping Tight ($34), Waist to Knee Shaper ($48), and High Waist to Knee Shaper ($58) to meet your specific shapewear needs.
